He said that the more illness there is, the more distortion occurs with muscular misalignment. He spent over 50 years developing this unique natural healing technique. His philosophy was “body misalignment is the cause of all diseases. Thus, all diseases can be cured if the body regains its natural alignment.” The fundamental
idea of Sôtai is that distortions in the locomotor system can be
corrected by moving the joints in comfortable directions. This promotes
healing in the circulatory, endocrine and nervous systems. The key point
is simple: 'comfortable positioning with gentle movements which do not
cause pain to restore body balance'. |

Bodywork reflects the original explorations of A.T. Still, the founder
of osteopathy; W.G. Sutherland, who developed cranial osteopathy, and
R. Becker, who further explored the unique healing processes present in
all of us. All three physicians believed that good health reflects the
integration of the energies of body, mind and spirit. At the core of our
healing mechanisms is the cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and nourishes
the brain and spinal cord. Good flow of this fluid, as well as blood flow,
is critical for the health and motion of all of our body systems: including
vascular, visceral, nervous, lymphatic and musculoskeletal systems. https://www.sacredspacesseminars.com/The_Therapies.html |

Shiatsu helps
to restore balance to the body's energetic system, consequently improving
and supporting the health and function of superficial and deep tissues,
as well as the circulatory, lymphatic, respiratory, and digestive systems.
