Sôtai (Japanese Alignment Therapy)
Sôtai comes from Japan, and it involves isometric style stretching exercises to improve limited range of movement of joints by involving the side that has the better flexibility. In TCM terms this therapy allows the free flow of Chi by relaxing tight holding muscles. The tight holding muscles and tendons are in fact the original cause of misalignment.

Sôtai was developed by a medical surgeon, Dr Keizo Hashimoto. He said that the more illness there is, the more distortion occurs with muscular misalignment. He spent over 50 years developing this unique natural healing technique. His philosophy was “body misalignment is the cause of all diseases. Thus, all diseases can be cured if the body regains its natural alignment.”

The fundamental idea of Sôtai is that distortions in the locomotor system can be corrected by moving the joints in comfortable directions. This promotes healing in the circulatory, endocrine and nervous systems. The key point is simple: 'comfortable positioning with gentle movements which do not cause pain to restore body balance'.

Far Infared Light Therapy (FIR)
Far-Infrared (FIR) is a wave length of sunlight (5-25 microns) - a tiny part of the vast spectrum of the sun's infrared ray (0.75 - 1000 microns). It was first confirmed by NASA that among the rays of the sun, FIR is most essential and beneficial for life and growth of all living things on this planet. Unlike ultra-violet light, Far-Infrared light is safe for our skin and bodies. FIR light vibrates at such a low frequency that it is unable to be seen by human eyes. Healthy body temperature is 36.5 C, or 98.6 F. Uniform temperature throughout the body is a balanced, healthy condition. When skin temperature is not even, it can be an indication of imbalance in the body. Infared therapy is delivered through a hand held tool that is applied to the skin and the receiver will feel a deep penetrating warmth. FIR helps relax muscles, ease pain, and repair internal systems.

Sacred Spaces Bodywork
Sacred Spaces Bodywork was developed by Cathy Pliscof, PT, as she sought a gentle, respectful way to honor the self-healing mechanisms of the body, mind and spirit. This method of holding the tissues in "Profound Neutral" led to the development of a series of techniques, that is known as Sacred Spaces Bodywork.

Sacred Spaces Bodywork reflects the original explorations of A.T. Still, the founder of osteopathy; W.G. Sutherland, who developed cranial osteopathy, and R. Becker, who further explored the unique healing processes present in all of us. All three physicians believed that good health reflects the integration of the energies of body, mind and spirit. At the core of our healing mechanisms is the cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and nourishes the brain and spinal cord. Good flow of this fluid, as well as blood flow, is critical for the health and motion of all of our body systems: including vascular, visceral, nervous, lymphatic and musculoskeletal systems. https://www.sacredspacesseminars.com/The_Therapies.html
